Women only: would you date my friend?
DSM Handyman asked:
A friend of mine works in a “gentleman’s club.” Actually, it features **** women dancing for tips.
A friend of mine works in a “gentleman’s club.” Actually, it features **** women dancing for tips.
Women seem to find him quite attractive, but he keeps telling me that he can’t get a date.He tells me that once women find out where he works, they will not date him. Why?
He is mid 30’s, never been married, smart, works out all the time, clean cut, no piercings, no tattoos, medium short hair, stylish dresser, funny, very smart, works full time and has some money. If you saw him on the street, you could easily think he is an executive.
His job has nothing to do with the dancers, he just happens to do what he does there. It isn’t like he is a pimp.
Whats the problem? Is there anything he can do to fix it, other than work at another place? The money is much better where he is and there are not that many “straight” jobs in his field.

I would not have a problem dating him, but I can see where some women might have issues. Kinda hard when your man is around ***** women all day not to have some thoughts running thru your mind about whether he is sleeping with them or something of that sort.

Don’t get me wrong, i feel for your friend, but personally, if i was in my mid-30’s you can guess that gravity would be taking over my body. Working around those girls is like a constant reminder [body wise] of everything you’re not. So women are probably intimidated..furthermore…i would never want my significant other around a bunch of girls with niiice bodies, perhaps nicer than mine…get my drift?

I probably would but then I don’t discriminate about people and their work. He should find a girl who likes watching **** then having *** because she gets off on it. That would be the best girlfriend for him.

Yea why not. Just b/c he works there doesn’t mean he does anything nasty right. If he is that handsome & has all those great qualities I don’t know why he wouldn’t be able to get a date. He sounds like a great guy.

Gosh Sweetie….it’s just that it’s so…….well, CLASSLESS. He sounds great, but I wouldn’t date him either.
What does he do there? Does he wait tables or tend bar? Those are honorable professions…why doesn’t he get a job in a nice place? Even if he takes a bit of a pay cut, I think it’d help his social life.
I mean…what woman wants to say that her husband works in a **** girly joint?

I have no problem with it. I’ve known a man who had worked at one of those clubs.

He’s probably going after the wrong women. Women are going to think he is more likely to cheat being round women who lapdance and stuff, the competition would probably cause paranoia and ruin the relationship, so what would be the point of even starting the relationship. Maybe he isnt as good looking and swarve as you think he is. He maybe should not tell the girls hes meeting about his job as soon as he meets them, atleast get to know him for him.

From what you write, he sounds terrific. A majority of the problem may have to do with the insecurities of the women that he chooses to ask out. Sounds like he needs to look for a female who is more secure and comfortable with herself.
